Initial Consultation

Medical History

On your first visit, the osteopath will obtain a complete medical history.  The osteopath will take further details on all current symptoms, as well as details of any past accidents or trauma, even if they may seem unrelated to the current problem.

Examination

This will be followed by a musculo-skeletal examination, where the patient may need to perform simple movements to allow the osteopath to identify any mobility impairment and evaluate posture.  Neurological and orthopaedic tests may be performed to eliminate possible underlying pathologies. 

Treatment

Osteopathic treatment will then be performed.  Advise and exercises to assist the current condition will be given.

Duration

The initial consultation will take approximately 40-60 minutes.
